Social Media Strategy

The Social Media Strategy Process

Depending on requirements, each of the stages within a full strategy may be performed separately

Identification

It is frequently the case that there are ‘pockets of activity’ of social media all around the company, and the individuals involved may have some great ideas or plans about how they might use online conversations in their own departments. Gathering this information is vital, and in a series of face-to-face meetings, our consultants will meet many individuals from right across the company and clearly identify your key business challenges and opportunities. Spending time with these employees also allows our consultants to understand your organisation’s culture, processes, and resources to ensure that any recommendations will be practical.

Audit and Research

Auditing the externally visible presence of your company in the online world is the next step, and using the most advanced Social Media Monitoring tools, our consultants can quickly identify the levels of interaction with your stakeholders and the market, and what is being said about your company and products across all of the social media platforms.
Whilst we fully endorse the famous quote that
“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower” – Steve Jobs
… an understanding of where your competitors are is a vital part of any business strategy. So, by also auditing the external presence of your competitors, it is possible to determine where your organisation is in relation to the rest of your market in terms of maturity of approach and tangible results.

Analysis

Using experience brought from many different business sectors, our consultants then analyse the results of the previous stages. Piecing together how best to apply the relevant social media solutions and methodologies that can realistically be implemented taking into account the internal factors and external market trends.

Recommendations

We produce a detailed set of recommendations for each of the business issues identified. Some of these will be simple, ‘quick-wins’ which may cost little or nothing to implement; others may be longer term and more complex, but as enablers of success, eSocialMedia will typically recommend sustainable solutions that you can manage internally or outsource as a managed service. We present our findings and recommendations to your leadership in a session that includes two-way dialogue and allows you to ask any questions as appropriate. Following this meeting we finalise our recommendations in a comprehensive strategy document that can be distributed to all of the relevant stakeholders in your organisation.

Implementation Guidelines and Planning

During this final part of the social media strategy process our experienced implementation staff will discuss with your staff how to organise and manage the implementation of your social media strategy. This leaves you and the relevant people in your business with a clear understanding of exactly how to implement the recommendations with a clear time frame and list of actions that need to be completed to achieve the success you expect.
